چکیده

Recent results from the study of the two-loop three-gluon and ghost-gluon vertices are reviewed. The relevant Ward–Slavnov–Taylor (WST) identities and Renormalization Group (RG) quantities are discussed. Talk presented by A. Gauge-Independent Off-Shell Fermion Self-Energies at Two Loops: The Cases of QED and QCD

We use the pinch technique formalism to construct the gauge-independent off-shell two-loop fermion self-energy, both for Abelian (QED) and non-Abelian (QCD) gauge theories. The new key observation is that all contributions originating from the longitudinal parts of gauge boson propagators, by virtue of the elementary tree-level Ward identities they trigger, give rise to effective vertices, whic...

Non-invariant two-loop counterterms for the three-gauge-boson vertices

Some practical applications of algebraic renormalization are discussed. In particular we consider the two-loop QCD corrections to the three-gauge-boson vertices involving photons, Z and W bosons. For this purpose also the corresponding two-point functions have to be discussed. A recently developed procedure is used to analyze the breaking terms of the functional identities and explicit formulae...

High Temperature Behaviour of the Qcd Coupling Constant

This straightforward extension of the T = 0 renormalizat ion group ( R G ) results is not completely satisfactory. In ref. [ 2 ], Matsumoto et al. generalize the RG approach at finite T i n the framework of the real t ime formalism [3]. In this framework, the ultraviolet divergences are the same as at T = 0 but in addit ion to the freedom of choosing the usual m o m e n t u m renormalizat ion p...

On an asymptotic estimate of the n-loop correction in perturbative QCD.

A recently proposed method of estimating the asymptotic behaviour of QCD perturbation theory coefficients is critically reviewed and shown to contain numerous invalid mathematical operations and unsubstantiated assumptions. We discuss in detail why this procedure, based solely on renormalization group (RG) considerations and analyticity constraints, cannot lead to such estimates. We stress the ...

Supersymmetric Regularization, Two-Loop QCD Amplitudes and Coupling Shifts

We present a definition of the four-dimensional helicity (FDH) regularization scheme valid for two or more loops. This scheme was previously defined and utilized at one loop. It amounts to a variation on the standard ’t Hooft-Veltman scheme and is designed to be compatible with the use of helicity states for “observed” particles. It is similar to dimensional reduction in that it maintains an eq...
